The history of Amala Province began on December 8, 1948, with the blessing and inauguration of Amala Convent in Thuckalay, Kottar Diocese. Until 1979, it was under the direct administration of the General Team. On May 30, 1979, it became Amala Region, with Rev. Sr. Stanislaus as its first Regional Superior
